Restoration Schedule
Approved and Supervised by MDE
The work was supervised by the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE).
Results from an air monitoring program were posted at the park and on this website. The air monitoring program began the week of May 5th and continued until October 16th when the project was completed.
Remediation Schedule
Soil Removal
Approximately 13,000 tons of contaminated soil, which was above the approved cleanup standard, was removed from the park by July 10th. Honeywell and MDE performed testing of the remaining soil to confirm that the excavation activities were completed.
Storm Drain Installation, Grading and Clean Soil
The storm drain installation was completed on August 5th. The park was graded and covered with a two-foot layer of clean base soil and more than one foot of top soil. Approximately, 40,000 cubic yards of clean soil was used to regrade the park. The top soil was then seeded to establish a grass cover.
